چکیده
This paper studies an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted wireless network, where a UAV is dispatched to gather information from ground sensor nodes (SN) and transfer the collected data depot. The freshness captured by age of (AoI) metric, whilst energy consumption seen as another performance criterion. Most importantly, AoI efficiency are inherently competing metrics, since decreasing requires returning depot more frequently, leading higher consumption. To this end, we design paths that optimize these two metrics reveal Pareto frontier. formulate problem, multi-objective mixed integer linear programming (MILP) proposed with flow-based constraint set apply Bender's decomposition on formulation. overall outcome shows method allows deriving non-dominated solutions for decision making based collection. Numerical results provided corroborate our study presenting front objectives effect trajectory.

Energy-Efficient Data Collection in UAV Enabled Wireless Sensor Network
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), utilizing the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as a mobile data collector for the ground sensor nodes (SNs) is an energy-efficient technique to prolong the network lifetime. Specifically, since the UAV can sequentially move close to each of the SNs when collecting data from them and thus reduce the link distance for saving the SNs’ transmission energy. In this l...

Mobility facilitates efficient data collection protocols improving the performance, scalability and life-time of wireless sensor networks. We propose a simple, yet effective and scalable method for resilient data collection in mobile-assisted wireless sensor networks. The mobile element covers an area using periodic long-range broadcast messages. Upon receiving a broadcast message, a sensor sen...
متن کاملEnergy-efficient Optimal Sub-sink Selection for Data Collection in Wireless Sensor Networks
In Wireless Sensor Networks, data collection by the Mobile Sink (MS) from the sensor nodes is a challenging task. In the proposed approach, the MS visits an optimal set of subsinks in order to collect data instead of visiting all the nodes in the network. In this paper, the subsink selection has been proven to be optimal since the subsinks are chosen by the Critical Path Method (CPM). Initially...
متن کاملMobility for an Optimal Data Collection in Wireless Sensor Networks
Sensor nodes located in the vicinity of a static sink drain rapidly their batteries since they have to carry more traffic burden. This situation results in network partition, holes as well as data losses. To mitigate this issue, many research proposed the use of mobile sink in data collection as a potential solution. However, due to its speed, the mobile sink has very short communication time t...
متن کاملEnergy-efficient Heterogeneous Data Collection in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks
We study the heterogeneous data collection problem for a Mobile Element (ME) in a WSN. Different from previous efforts, we consider a more practical network scenario where the link quality is instable, the data generation rates on different sensor nodes are distinct, and the sensory data cannot be aggregated in transmission. We propose to minimize the energy consumption of gathering global sens...
